No Kill Louisville

Louisville's city run animal shelter takes in more than 14,000 animals a year. It's not impossible to save every adoptable animal. If we use the No Kill model and spread the word about the great animals at LMAS, we can save all those who need homes.

This site is a wonderful tool for finding your next best friend or helping someone you know find an animal in need who would make a great addition to the family!

If you live in Southern Indiana, help is needed near your home. Check out ways to help the shelter closer to you. It's all about us all lending a hand.

Nathan Winograd, the author of Redemption and Irreconcilable Differences, is considered an expert in the No Kill movement. The No Kill Advocacy Center has many great resources based on Mr. Winograd's model including blogs written by the author/animal welfare activist himself.

This Louisville group works to spay/neuter hundreds of unowned cats each year. They're a proactive, positive group that is implementing what many believe is one of the keys to No Kill success - TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release/Return)

This site is linked with shelters across the country and updates animals upon intake.

This site was launched to help groups come up with ways to promote the adoption of black animals. Black dogs and cats are often the last in the shelters to go and so are the first to die.
