The Latest & Greatest Ways to Fundraise!
Lucy's Doodles was started in 2009 by Abi Schweizer and Carol Hammerbeck, a mother/daughter duo, with the hopes that selling earrings would help pay for the costly chemotherapy their sweet dog Lucy needed. They managed to make a little bit of money from it, and in the end, Lucy passed away happy and loved, the same way she had been for the five great years they knew her.
They still enjoy making earrings in their free time and have decided to sell them for charity. They established the Lucy's Doodles Fund which will be used to help pay for veterinary costs for needy pets - in shelters or with owners - as the earrings helped pay Lucy's chemo bills. You can visit their Etsy shop here. When you purchase earrings, $5 will be donated to No Kill Louisville.
We're now part of a new program in Louisville that works to support charities while giving YOU some major bargains! It's called My Pink Pig.
